St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A meeting focusing on the economic impact of the NHL lockout on Minnesota cities will still be held following this weekend's agreement.

The Commerce Committee Chair, Representative Joe Atkins, announced his intention to hold a hearing to discuss the impact of the lockout and consider whether legislation is needed.

In a statement Monday, Atkins said the legislature needs to hear from people affected by the lockout and if there anything that can be done in anticipation of future lockouts.

He says he'll meet with the Minnesota Wild soon to hear their thoughts.
The committee hearing is set for January 23rd.
