MN Lawmaker Wants Brighter, Safer Roads

St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A Minnesota lawmaker is shedding light on a problem she says is prevalent on the state's roadways.

Senator Ann Rest (DFL - New Hope) reintroduced a bill Monday that would require motorists to keep their headlights on at all times, regardless of weather conditions or time of day.

The bill reflects findings by MNDOT suggesting that the improved visibility from 24 hour low beam usage could lead to reduced fatalities.

The Transportation Committee was expected to lay the bill over after discussion today.

No other states currently have such a law on the books.
