MN Power Crews Head to East Coast for Hurricane Sandy Efforts
Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- Minnesota Power and Superior Water Light & Power line workers will leave for Baltimore, Maryland Tuesday morning, following calls for additional resources in anticipation of widespread power outages from Hurricane Sandy. Crews are responding from the Duluth, Eveleth and Little Falls offices. Minnesota Power is part of the Midwest Mutual Assistance Group which helps restore power around the country following natural disasters as well as neighboring utilities around Minnesota. The company’s employees have responded to Ohio, Florida and most recently in 2011 to Baltimore in the wake of Hurricane Irene.
