MN Power Seeks Community Input on Great Northern Transmission Line
Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - Company officials met with Hermantown residents to discuss the power line's preliminary stages. The project will bring power from Canada's Manitoba Hydro to customers within Minnesota Power's service territory, including the Iron Range, through a new transmission line. Minnesota Power representative Amy Rutledge says it's critical to get feedback from the community, especially those who own land along the power line route. "This is a critical part of that process. Getting that community input now, and also making sure that we're informing folks along every step of the way," said Rutledge.
