Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Minnesota's exports reached 5 billion in the first quarter of 2014, representing a two percent increase over last year.
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) released numbers today showing sales increased in eight of the state's top ten categories.
Machinery was the leading export, even though it took a seven percent dip from last year.
Aircraft and spacecraft exports; however, dropped 33 percent. Minnesota exporters made strong gains in markets like Mexico, Japan, Germany and Australia.
