The man accused of punching an 84 year old woman in the face, before robbing her, has had his bail set at $100,000 dollars as the Douglas County attorney considers his charges.

47 year old Jeffery Scott Montana has a history of criminal behavior dating back to 1988.

He has a felony conviction for 3rd degree burglary from 1989.

Douglas County district attorney Dan Blank says Montana is a "danger to the public" and is also suspected of several other burglaries that took place last weekend.

"He has a lot of home invasion burglaries in Minnesota and lots of prison sentences in the past and we've got information that might tie to at least a couple of home burglaries, plus this in your face with the lady that opens the door, plus a stolen vehicle. Those are a lot of the factors that added up to that big bail recommendation," says Blank.

He is set to have his initial court appearance Thursday, August, 15th.
At that point charges will be filed and his bail will be reviewed.
