Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A man who was shot in the chest Saturday is stable, but still in critical condition as authorities search for the person that shot him.

According to Duluth police, 27-year-old Nathan James Niemi was shot around 3:15 a.m., Saturday at 2216 W. 2nd Street.

Duluth Public Information Officer Jim Hansen says Duluth Police are continuing to follow several leads and have several people of interest in the case.

The initial investigation revealed that a resident had a gathering at the location with several people. Police say after the victim was shot, the suspects fled the area.

City officials say the house where the shooting took place has been condemned for some time. Authorities say this does not appear to be a random incident.

If anyone has any information about this incident they are asked to call 911.
