Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- Duluth Police have released the name of the victim from Friday's homicide as 28-year-old Joshua Eric Defoe, a resident of Duluth.
At 8:22 a.m. on April 27th, Police were called to an apartment in the 100 block of East First Street.
A renter of the apartment called authorities and said he found Defoe deceased inside.
When officers arrived to the scene, they found suspicious injuries on Defoe and a suspicious death investigation began.
Two people are in custody, pending charges.
The 37-year-old tenant of the apartment where the body was found has been taken into custody and is being held in connection with the murder, along with another 47-year old suspect.
According to authorities, Defoe and the two men in custody were known to each other.
The Saint Louis County Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy and ruled the death as a homicide.
The cause of death was determined from injuries sustained from a knife wound on Defoe's neck.
Duluth police continue to investigate the city's first homicide since 2010.
