Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.COM) -- The man accused of murdering another man after an altercation outside of a Proctor bar last November has been sentenced.
33-year-old Paul Joseph Welle will spend 18 years in prison after he was found guilty in September on charges of second degree murder in the death of Dale Anderson.
Welle was also found guilty of first degree manslaughter, but those charges were dropped.
Welle was apparently pressuring a woman to leave the Powerhouse bar with him and she refused.
Anderson then stepped in to tell Welle to leave the woman alone and Welle punched him, knocking him to the ground.
Anderson hit his head on the concrete and died three days after the fight from brain injuries.
