Man with a lengthy criminal record arrested again

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth Police have arrested a man with a lengthy criminal record in connection with an alleged burglary in Duluth.

A 28-year-old woman told police she was in her home on the 300 block of west 5th St., Wednesday, when she heard someone break down her door and run up her stairs.

Police responded to the incident just before 4 p.m., and located a suspect matching the woman's description a few minutes later on Mesabi Avenue and 7th St.

The suspect, 30-year-old James Lee Berry of Duluth, has an extensive previous criminal record dating back to 2003, which includes numerous felony charges ranging from drug sales and terroristic threats to felony burglary.

He had been released from jail just 10 days prior to the incident. He has been charged with 1st degree burglary and 4th degree criminal damage to property, and is being held in the St. Louis County Jail.
