Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com)--- As part of Friday's Grandma's festivities the 20-14 Marsh Nelson Media award was presented.

This year's award went to Marathon and Beyond, a bimonthly running magazine that features advice, forums and training programs to marathon and ultra-distance runners.

The magazine has been a partner with Grandma's Marathon for the last 20 years.

For the 30th anniversary of Grandma in 2006, the magazine produced Grandma's Marathon & Beyond, a commemorative issue showcasing the history and highlights of the event's first three decades.

Grandma's is only one of two marathons to be featured...the other was the Boston Marathon.

" Marathon and Beyond has done so much for us, not only on the running side but getting our race exposure across the country, been a great partner for us and can't say enough about what they've done for our race for our event and for the running community in the Twin Ports," says Bob Gustafson, Public Relations Director for Grandma's Marathon.

Former Executive Director Scott Keenan was also honored at today's luncheon with a certificate of excellence, signed by Governor Mark Dayton, for his 37 years of service and dedication to Grandma's Marathon.
