Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- United Way of Greater Duluth (UWGD) announced this week that Matthew Hunter will become the new organization president.
Hunter is a graduate of Duke, and has experience working internationally. United Way was drawn to Hunter's extensive resume, including his 16 years of leadership experience in for–profit and nonprofit sectors.
"We are especially impressed by his range of philanthropic leadership experience and dedication to positive and meaningful community impact," UWGD Board Chair, Peter Hedstrom, said.
Hunter was the Executive Director at Friends for a Non–Violent World and The Shepherd's Way. He also served as Executive Director of Community Shares of Minnesota.
"I'm looking forward to building a life here in Duluth with my family and making sure United Way continues on a path that is effective, efficient and making a positive difference for all of us," Hunter said.
