Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --Young professionals in Superior heard from Mayor Bruce Hagen about ways to grow their community.

The Superior Young Professionals has been in the works for the past two years and the group held its first educational talk on Thursday.

The goal of the organization is to develop and retain young talent in the community.

Mayor Hagen was the guest speaker and spoke about how he values young professional's opinions in building the community.

Hagen says young professionals are the future of Superior and it's important to get them involved in the conversation to help grow businesses and the economy.

"We would like to have their participation with regard to the discussion with industry and businesses as to the growth of young professionals and entrepreneurs in the community that would compliment and hopefully tip the scales in having those industries and businesses choose Superior," said Mayor Hagen.

More than 60 young professionals attended the meeting at Aces.
