Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth Mayor Don Ness and a contingent of business, community and labor leaders gathered at Mr. D's in West Duluth to show solidarity in support of a ½ percent tourism tax.

They say the money raised would support an ambitious plan to expand the tax base for Duluth.

The plan calls for enhancing the St. Louis River Corridor, encouraging home building in the area.

We'll tell you more about the plan and the fundraising method tonight on our evening newscasts.
