Washington, D.C. (NNCNOW.com) --- Tuesday, Democratic Congressman Rick Nolan presented a $355,005 grant to Mesabi Range Community and Technical College.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development program funded the grant which will allow the college to install a state–of–the–art teleconferencing room along with video equipment.

Two community colleges and twelve K–12 schools throughout the Arrowhead Region will benefit from the teleconferencing room and equipment.

"The importance of providing our Range schools with every high tech advantage and state–of–the–art educational system, to ensure students are well prepared for the technologies, industries, and jobs of the future, cannot be understated," Nolan said.

Now a wider range of schools are closer to their goal of working together to share classroom/curriculum information, immerse students in video technology and introduce them to more types of studies.
