Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A Northland bobcat may be down one of his nine lives, but he's holding onto the other eight thanks to the work of several good Samaritans.

The 23 pound male bobcat was spotted in Northern Minnesota with a snare around his neck.

A live trap was put by a deer carcass and in this case, curiosity saved the cat. It was taken to a Duluth veterinarian who sedated the animal and removed the snare.

The otherwise healthy bobcat suffered from several lacerations around the neck.

The cat was expected to be released into his home territory by Friday morning.
