Minnesota Native Takes Third Place on NBC's The Voice

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - It was down to the final three contestants on Tuesday's season finale of NBC's The Voice.

Cassadee Pope took the crown for the third season, followed by Terry McDermott and Minnesota's very own Nicholas David took third place.

The three finalists squared off for a final time during the two-hour event.

Jaima and Tom Hanson, David's aunt and uncle, own the Duluth Grill and have been following David's progress from the show's start.

Tuesday night Jaima and several other family members gathered one last time to catch their famous relative give it his best. They had a message for him:

"We would just say, hey Nick. We love you," his aunt, Jaima Hanson said watching the show. "We're just excited here and sending you all our love and whether you win or lose, you've been on an amazing journey and we're here for you.

31-year-old Nicholas David is a multi-talented singer, songwriter and pianist from the Twin Cities.
