Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Last month Minnesota and Wisconsin's unemployment rates both dropped, Minnesota's to 4.7% and Wisconsin's to 5.8%.

Minnesota has added nearly 42,000 jobs in the past year. Wisconsin has also added about 28,000 jobs in the past year.

"While hiring slowed in April, the overall trend remains positive, with all but one of the state's industrial sectors adding jobs over the past year," Minnesota's DEED Commissioner Katie Clark Sieben, said.

In Minnesota manufacturers added 2,400 jobs in April, reaching a post–recession high of 315,000 jobs, DEED said. Wisconsin added over 101,000 private sector jobs since December 2010, the Department of Workforce Development said.
