Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Authorities have identified human remains that were recently discovered in Canosia Township as that of a man who went missing two years ago.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office say that an autopsy of human remains that were discovered by game hunters in the Canosia Wildlife Area have been identified as that of 44 year old Andrew Michael Owca of Canosia Township.

The hunters say that they found the remains in a swampy area, several hundred meters off the wildlife trail.

A search of the area uncovered remains and clothing items thought to be that of Owca.

An autopsy of the remains showed no signs of any trauma. The Medical Examiner was able to use dental records to identify Owca.

Owca went missing in October of 2010 in the 5700 Block of Lavaque Road. Extensive searches at that time produced negative results.

The investigation into Owca's disappearance is considered to be closed.
