Ely, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A handmade teddy bear is attracting some big bucks for bear research at the Hope Education Center in Ely, MN.

The stuffed animal auction was inspired by Hope the research Bear that was killed by a hunter in 2011.

The latest bid on Ebay as of Tuesday night has brought the current price to $2,500 with five days left to go in the auction.

Lynn Rogers with the Bear Center in Ely says this is the most realistic teddy bear he's ever seen.
