BEMIDJI, MN, (Northland's NewsCenter)--- As road crews resurface the road from Northome to Effie, motorists will encounter a detour and delays on Highway 1, beginning Monday, July 9.
As crews complete major construction in Effie, they will replace culverts and resurface a portion of Highway 6 north of the junction with Highway 1.
It was previously announced that traffic would be detoured to Koochiching County Road 6.
From Northome, traffic will detour north on Highway 71 to Big Falls, then south on State Highway 6 to the junction with Highway 1.
Motorists on westbound Highway 1 from Effie will use the same detour in reverse beginning at the junction with State Highway 6.
The detour is estimated to be in place until July 28.
