Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The newest members of the Duluth Police Department hit the streets Thursday, on all fours.

After ten years of disbandment, the Duluth mounted patrol returned Thursday with the help of Rocky, Ranger, Maggie and Jimmy.

The four horses were bought in March from a police department in the Twin Cities that recently disbanded their mounted patrol.

The horses are trained in search and rescue.

The Duluth Police Department wants to remind everyone to ask officers before petting the horses when you see them.
