St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Nearly 1,000 people converged on the state capital in St. Paul yesterday as part of what’s called the 5% rally.

The rallyers are proposing legislation calling for a 5% pay increase for home and community-based health care workers who care for people with developmental disabilities along with people who care for older adults who haven’t had a wage increase in nearly six years.

This is a video from yesterday of the Minnesota Senate as lawmakers discuss the need for this legislation.
