New $5.5M senior living home to be built in Superior
Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Superior will soon have a better senior living facility. Superior Mayor Bruce Hagen announced that the Grand Central Plaza received approval from the Wisconsin housing and economic development authority. The $5.5 million project was selected in a special round of project awards for having strong economic development attributes. The facility will have 50 units which will be funded through a community development block grant. Officials say this is a much needed facility to accommodate seniors. “We're filling a need for not only the age group but also for some of our low income residents,” Jason Serck, Superior Planning Director said. “If you look at some of the superior housing authority statistics, they have a waiting list so we are going to be filling that need.” The building will be located in the 1300 block of Weeks Avenue in Superior. Construction is expected to start in the summer.
