Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A new music and art lounge will open in Duluth next week, with live performances from more than 15 bands.

As well as live music the "Red Herring" music and art venue will host open mic nights.

Owner of the venue, Bob Monahan, says it's always been a goal of his to open a bona fide music venue, broadening Duluth's horizons.

But he says music won't be the only thing they do...

Monahan hopes to showcase all types of performance art.

"Even maybe film at some point or even fashion or anything that you know, might need a stage or a space to present. I'd also like to host just community events here," said Monahan.

The music venue's grand opening bonanza kicks off Thursday night with five live bands.

Twelve other bands will play throughout Friday and Saturday evening.
