St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A group of democratic and republican lawmakers are expected to meet for the first time Wednesday morning to begin tackling issues impacting rural Minnesota.

The task force, led by Senator Tom Saxhaug (DFL-Grand Rapids) and Senator Julie Rosen (R-Fairmont), will concentrate on education, health care, nursing home access, transportation and property taxes.

Senators say the goal is to identify key issues during the next few months that can be turned into legislation before the 2015 session begins in January.
