Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- After a nearly ten month investigation, the Douglas County District Attorney's Office has decided not to press charges against a Superior daycare owner accused of sexually assaulting children.

According to a search warrant obtained from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, in January a woman contacted the Bayfield county Human Services Department to say her two daughters had been sexually assaulted while visiting a house in Superior.

Ruth Kressel, Assistant District Attorney for Douglas County, said a thorough investigation was conducted and based on her review of the evidence available, no criminal charges will be filed.

The case was initially handed over to Superior Police but they turned it over to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office due to a conflict of interest.

The male subject at the center of the case is reportedly the father of a Superior Police Officer.
