Ashland, WI (Northland's Newscenter) - The school in Ashland is known for its liberal arts curriculum with an emphasis on the environment.
The keynote address was delivered by Northland alum John N. Allen who went on to become a real estate mogul.
The student address was delivered by Travis Moore of Nashville, Tennessee who served as a student senator during his time at the college.
Northland College is also home to the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute.
Olson was a noted environmentalist who served for years as president of what is now Vermilion Community College in Ely.
