Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Seeds of Hope Youth Horse Ranch in Duluth is just weeks away from opening for the season...but has hit a roadblock in helping the children who come to the ranch.
The ranch is a non profit that rescues horses in need, and allows kids to bond with them while working through their own struggles
Just recently an inspector came in and found that 13 of the ranch's helmets are out of date...leaving the camp in a bind.
Classes start on May 1, and the non profit now has to come up with nearly $1,000 to replace the helmets which will be difficult.
"All the horses go through vet care and that's coming up, that will be a nice expense for us too, so we have to have the helmets, but the horses also have to have the vet care, so if anything we'd have to turn down how many kids we have at a time until we can get them.," said Wendy Krook, Executive Director of Seeds of Hope Youth Ranch.
If you would like to donate to the Seeds of Hope Youth Ranch to get new helmets, you can do so HERE
