Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - While Firday was a dangerous day on the roads there were some who were happy to see the new snow.

Over three inches has fallen in Duluth, providing skiers with plenty of new snow to hit the slopes.

Today was "semester day" at Duluth schools giving kids a day to play in the snow.

Many of them occupied their time at Chester Bowl.

This winter has been fairly mild, but today the northland is experiencing a clipper system, bringing the snow.

"We had the perfect night and we got several inches of snow, so it's been a great day for people to come out and have fun at the ski hill," said Tom Storm, executive director of the Chester Bowl Improvement Club.

"I like it cuz it was a lot of fun this morning going out in the new snow because it was harder but it was fun," said Eva Huber, who was enjoying the day off from school and some fun in the snow.

Chester Bowl also had activities today for kids such as backwards ski racing and partner ski racing.
