Northland athletes take home gold in Special Olympics State Tournament

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - It was a banner weekend for a handful of athletes representing the Northland at the Special Olympics State Tournaments at the University of Saint Thomas.

The weekend–long competition features over 1,800 athletes who compete in events from power lifting, to basketball and aquatics.

For Duluth All Stars team members Connor Nordvall and Brandon Moe, both came home with the gold this weekend in their categories.

Moe took his for power lifting, while Nordvall and his team claimed the gold in basketball.

For Nordvall, it's on to the national tournament for track and field in New Jersey in June.
