Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Have you ever wanted to show Duluth Mayor Don Ness your appreciation by dunking him in a tub of cold water?

That's the idea behind the proposed "Dunk Your Mayor" booth at this year's Twin Ports Bridge Festival, which has been paired with the Lake Superior Harvest Festival in September.

Event organizers say the aim is to get a number of Northland Mayors and city councilors to be a part of a dunk tank booth.

At a buck a ball, the event would raise money for a local nonprofit of the dunkee's choosing.

Mayor Ness has yet to comment on if he's up for the idea. No word yet on what Superior Mayor Bruce Hagan's stance is, but his office has suggested it may be a tough sell.
