Owl hurt in Duluth window crash dies

December 10, 2013 Updated Dec 11, 2013 at 1:49 PM CDT

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A long eared owl that crashed into a downtown Duluth building Monday has died.

Wildwoods Rehabilitation Center said the owl was hurt after it hit a window on the second floor of a building.

Duluth Firefighters came to the little guy's rescue and brought him to Wildwoods for surgery.

Unfortunately, the center said the owl died Tuesday morning due to head injuries.

Experts say many windows in the downtown area are hazards to migrating birds.
