Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- If you like hanging out in bakery-cafes you'll be happy to hear that Panera Bread will be opening near Miller Hill Mall in Duluth Saturday morning.

Panera held a "soft opening" Thursday put on by the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank, and by five Thursday evening they had already raised more than $1,000.

The event helps the food bank raise money to help feed Northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin's hungry.

Panera's General Manager says it's a perfect way to kick off the business.

"Partnering with Second Harvest, ya know, they're just a good group. They're very professional, great group to work with. Getting the food, our leftovers, into needy hands is just a big deal or Panera, so we feel really good about that," said Scott Mabstuh, Panera's General Manager.

The new Hansen Center, just west of the Miller Hill Mall, also houses three other retailers.
