Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - People filled Teatro Zuccone on East Superior Street in Duluth to celebrate marriage equality.
Minnesota is the 12th state to legalize same sex marriage.
Governor Mark Dayton signed the landmark marriage bill into law on Tuesday.
"Its one of those issues that we started a momentum, so many things happened in Duluth with our open mindedness and progressiveness and you can see just what is happening in this great town," said City Council President, Patrick Boyle.
Same sex couples will be able to marry in the state starting in August.
