Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- Duluth City Councilors were updated on the progress of "The Silos at Pier B" project at the committee of the whole meeting on Tuesday.

The $29 million project next to Bayfront Festival Park will house a 140 room hotel and a 150 seat restaurant featuring a boat dock.

Another amenity developers plan to put in includes a slip bridge connecting Bayfront Park and Pier B.

The slip bridge would extend the lake walk through lot D.

Developers also want to shallow that slip to make way for more events all year round.

"We'll have paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing those rentals. The winter time, by swallowing the water depth it will freeze and we will be able to do winter activities out on the ice," said Co-Devloper, Sandy Hoff.

DEDA will discuss the project further at it's meeting on June 4th.

Developers hope to break ground August 1st.
