Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com)-- Duluth Police Chief Gordon Ramsay will not support any deal that allows Last Place on Earth owner Jim Carlson to avoid jail time.

Friday, Carlson's attorney Randall Tigue released the details of plan that would stop the sale of synthetic drugs at Last Place, if all the criminal charges against Mr. Carlson are dismissed.

St. Louis County attorney Jonathan Holets says his office has responded to the deal, but wouldn't elaborate on the answer.

City attorney Gunnar Johnson says the city would drop the nuisance lawsuits if Carlson stops selling synthetic drugs.

The federal government is also looking into the offer.

Chief Ramsay responded to the deal on his facebook page.

He posted:

I am opposed to any "deal" in our effort to hold drug dealers accountable for their actions. Too much damage has been done and too many resources expended. I will ensure our prosecutors know how strongly we feel about this. Justice will prevail on my watch.
