Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Some voters at a the City Center West Precinct off Grand Avenue received ballots with Representative Kerry Gauthier's name on them instead of Erik Simonson's in the House 7B race.
The precincts chief election judge, Paul Malzac, tells the Northland's NewsCenter voters brought the mistake to his attention around 7:15 a.m.
Within about 12 minutes, city officials brought correct ballots with Simonson's name on them to the precinct.
Malzac says only a few ballots with Gauthier's name were cast but could not give a specific number.
Voters were instructed about the error and were told they could write in Simonson's name if they wished to vote for him.
Duluth City Clerk, Jeff Cox tells us it's the only precinct he's aware of in Duluth that had the incorrect ballots and that all off the ballots with write-ins cast in the precinct will be hand counted after the polls close.
