Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- City councilors are taking steps to prevent the spread of Emerald Ash Borer into the city.
A proposed resolution would allow for testing, removal and disposal of about 30 trees on Park Point that are suspected to be infected with the pest.
At this time the city is not experiencing an infestation of emerald ash borer, but the insect has caused major problems in Superior and Douglas County.
This has prompted the council to take preventative measures such as testing known infected trees to ensure the problem does not travel across the bridge.
