Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Labor Day Weekend Pride 2013 Celebration is officially underway. Duluth Mayor Don Ness and several Twin Ports leaders kicked off festivities at the Depot in Duluth during the Mayor's Reception. Outstanding contributors to the GLBTAQI community were honored and Pride Awards were announced. From block parties, to a drag show, and a fruit float, organizers say the weekend long celebration is a tribute to how far the GLBTAQI community has come in the Northland. “With the passage of the marriage amendment, same sex marriage, it changes things a little bit,” Harvey Plasch, a Festival co-chair said. “At the festival we are actually going to perform weddings. We'll have a wedding tent with wedding cake and champagne.” The theme of the four day festival is "What a Difference a Gay Makes"
