Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- For 60 little Northland girls who have dreams of being a princess, that's exactly what happened on Saturday.

The "Princess for a Day" event, at UMD in Duluth, gave some very happy attendees a chance to dress, act, and feel like royalty.

Event coordinators say it's all about making girls feel special, while promoting the chance to just be themselves.

Little princesses learned a variety of skills, including how to wave like a real princess.

"Girls look up to every single one of us with smiling faces, and in awe, especially... the girls that dress up as princesses. It keeps us doing it every year, and we love it. We love having the girls here," said Danielle Lachermeier, the event coordinator.

All the proceeds raised during the Princess for a Day event will go to the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation, which will raise money for the area's schools and college prep programs.
