St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- The Minnesota Correctional Facility-Willow River’s Challenge Incarceration Program is being recognized for its successful safety culture.
The last time the facility had a staff injury that resulted in lost time from work was May 4, 2009, nearly 4 years ago.
In the last 1,372 days, no staff have taken time off work due to an injury at work.
The DOC’s goal is to meet the Governor’s Minnesota Safety Accountability From Everyone (MnSAFE) challenge.
MnSAFE is the state-wide workplace safety initiative for employees of the State of Minnesota.
Governor Dayton has challenged all state employees to reduce the rate of workplace injuries by 25% in 3 fiscal years (2012-2014).
Agencies are measured by worker compensation claims with $1 or more attributed to them.
