September 13, 2012 Updated Sep 13, 2012 at 12:59 PM CDT

Hermantown, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Two sections of Midway Road in Hermantown will be temporarily closed later this month due to the Canadian National Railroad performing maintenance and repair work on two railroad crossings.

Work on each railroad crossing is expected to last up to three days and requires the road to be closed to traffic.

The first railroad crossing is located just south of Highway 2 near the Adolph Store. Midway Road is expected to be closed at this railroad crossing starting next Tuesday, September 18th through Thursday, September 20th.

The second railroad crossing is located at the intersection of St. Louis River Road, approximately one mile south of Highway 2.

Midway Road is expected to be closed at this railroad crossing sometime during the following week of September 24th.

St. Louis County Public Works will place signs on Midway Road notifying drivers of these closures and asks that drivers follow the posted detour routes.
