Nett Lake, WI (NNCNOW.COM) -- A fire destroyed a mobile home in Nett Lake Monday morning, leaving two residents homeless.

The Red Cross Northland's Chapter provided food, clothing, storage tubs, linens and comfort supplies as well as housing provided by the Bois Forte band of Ojibwe at Fortune Bay Casino Hotel.

"Fires during the holiday season are especially common,: said chapter Executive Director Judy Hanne Gonzalez, who recommends that people take special care with holiday lights and candles. Cooking is also a common cause of holiday fires, Gonzalez added.

The Northland Chapter responds to approximately 100 local disasters annually.
