July 1, 2013 Updated Jul 1, 2013 at 11:12 AM CDT

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Duluth's Park Point Beaches due to strong waves that could support deadly rip currents.

The warning takes effect immediately and will continue until 10am on Tuesday.

According to the Duluth Fire Department, rip currents are life-threatening to anyone wading into the surf and that beach goers should stay out of the water, regardless of swimming experience.

Beach goers can find current surf conditions while at the beach at the following locations: 12th Street beach, Lafayette Square, and Park Point beach.

There are currently no lifeguards at the Park Point beach.

Beach goers will be notified if surf conditions improve before the warning period expires.
