Researchers say Bear Cubs are Boy and Girl

Ely, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - Researchers in Ely say they have been able to determine of the sexes of the two bear cubs belonging to black bear Jewel..

Doctor Lynn Rogers says the cubs appear to be a boy and a girl.

"We're waiting for more views to be sure, but we'd bet on it," he said in an e-mail.

Dr. Rogers says at this point, researchers don't see anything unique that sets the two cubs apart, such as chest blazes or eyebrow spots.
