Duluth, MN (NNC NOW) - According to Duluth Police Public Information Officer Jim Hansen, authorities responded to the accident on the 400 block of West Superior Street just after seven PM.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a grey Ford Explorer had driven onto the sidewalk, but not before taking out four light posts, a garbage can, and a mailbox.

In all, five people were in the SUV, including three children.

The driver of the SUV, a 27–year–old Superior resident, is currently being held on charges of fifth degree possession of a controlled substance, a $2000 dollar felony failure to appear in court, and child endangerment.

Police say they're still investigating what caused the crash.
