Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com)--- Sending kids back to school can turn into a pretty expensive time for parents..but Cosmetology Careers Unlimited and the Salvation Army are literally helping to cut costs. In an effort to help families, students at Cosmetology Careers Unlimited were offering free hair cuts to kids entering grades kindergarten through 12th grade. CCU says the "Kuts for Kids" event helped more than 30 families with free haircuts. Krystal Busco, school manager at Cosmetology Careers unlimited, says it's great hands on hair experience for the cosmetology students and a great way to give back to the community. "School supplies do add up, obviously, so one other thing is to kind of have kids looking and feeling good for school so this is just one less cost that's gonna build up towards that," said Busco. This is the fourth year that CCU and the Salvation Army have teamed up for the event. Written and posted to the web by Raeanna Marnati rmarnati@kbjr.com
