Semi rear–ends car at highway speeds

Two Harbors, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Six people were involved in an accident Thursday afternoon in Two Harbors which left five of them with non–life threatening injuries.

20-year-old David Hansen of Lutsen, Minn., was driving a semi going northbound on Highway 61 when he rear–ended a Ford Explorer which was stopped to make a left–hand turn.

Five people from Lester Prairie, Minn., were in the explorer at the time of the crash, and all were injured.

The driver of the explorer, 38-year-old Jacob Hertel, along with an adult passenger and three children (ages 10, 8 and 1 years old) were injured.

The accident is under investigation.
