Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.COM) --- Lakeview Christian Academy students spent Tuesday morning buying holiday gifts for families in need.

Seniors and First grade students in the mentor program took a field trip to Walmart to buy holiday gifts for two families in the Salvation Army Holiday Program.

From sweaters and winter gloves to Nerf footballs and nail polish, students selected several item to buy and donate.

"We like to use what we can to help those who are greater in need then ourselves. Sometimes we don't realize how, what people need during the holidays,” Jonathon Hardesty, a senior said. “We like to make that difference."

The toys will be dropped off at the Salvation Army to be given to the selected families.
